Overview

Position Summary:
The Director of Accounting for Kodiak Building Partners will oversee the corporate accounting functions of Financial Reporting, Audit & Compliance for all Kodiak and its operations companies. This individual will oversee and review the work of team members, and assist in their development and training, as well continuously improving the department’s processes and procedures. This position will report to the Controller. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to work for a growing company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, train and assist in the development of manager level employees to maintain a high level of employee commitment and competence for sustained and self-reliant performance and achievement of the business platform and the company goals.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards like GAAP.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operational leadership and external partners to support collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Oversee the development, improvement and documentation internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company’s results.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.
  • Regular travel required (up to 20%)

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required 
  • 10+ years of accounting experience preferred with a minimum of 3 years in supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary
  • Relevant industry experience, building or distribution or real estate industry preferred
  • Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
  • Strong research and reconciliation skills required
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required
  • Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
  • Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus
  • Team player

Location: This position is primarily on-site at our headquarters located at: 9780 Pyramid Court, Englewood, CO 80112

  • Regular in-person attendance is required Monday through Thursday
  • Friday is an optional remote workday

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel requirements: Travel up to 20% by car and/or plane to the operating companies
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to move between departments within the company facility

Min Salary

USD $130,000.00/Yr.

Max Salary

USD $160,000.00/Yr.
