Overview

Kodiak is seeking a Systems Administrator II one who will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They will install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. System administrators will also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. Supports front-line IT customer service team and IT business services team with all systems, networks/LAN/WAN, cybersecurity, and cloud services.  Also provides investigation, diagnostics, testing and repair/resolution of systems, hardware, software and supporting infrastructure.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Systems Administration

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:

  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Manage, maintain, and optimize servers, storage systems, and enterprise networks (on-premises and cloud).
    • Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems.
  • System Administration:
    • Perform advanced installation, configuration, patching, and monitoring of Windows/Linux systems.
    • Maintain directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and domain controllers.
  • Virtualization & Cloud:
    • Manage VMware/Hyper-V environments.
    • Support and administer cloud platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including vulnerability assessments and system hardening.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery:
    • Design and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
    • Test recovery procedures regularly.
  • Monitoring & Performance Tuning:
    • Use system monitoring tools to track performance and resolve issues proactively.
    • Identify and remediate bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Technical Leadership & Documentation:
    • Mentor junior administrators and assist with escalated support tickets.
    • Develop and maintain system documentation.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Technical Team

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:

  • Manage customer needs through issue identification, resolution planning, and task resolution as required.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking to improve systems and company performance.
  • Collaborate and escalate operational issues with the supervisor to maintain and improve system performance

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Customer Service

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:

  • Provide positive and friendly customer service.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Additional Duties as Assigned

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:

  • As our company develops, other duties will be recognized necessary and assigned to service our headquarters and subsidiary customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 5-8 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

 

LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

  • 9780 PYRAMID CT STE #300 ENGLEWOOD, CO 80112
  • Minimum 25-40% travel required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional lifting five (5) to forty (40) pounds. Frequent sitting.
  • Moderate bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
