Maintenance Technician - Woodworking Factory (Split Shift)

Overview

Sun Mountain Custom Doors, an industry-leading manufacturer of custom doors and other architectural millwork products, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its team of quality employees. This mechanic position is responsible for servicing and maintaining a variety of woodworking equipment and factory service systems in preventative, routine, and emergency situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing setup, maintenance, and execution of preventative maintenance tasks with operators
  • Troubleshooting problems with factory equipment
  • Work with outside vendors to resolve maintenance and equipment issues
  • Ordering and installing repair parts for manufacturing equipment and factory Air Compressor/Dryer, HVAC, Fire Suppression, and Dust Collection systems
  • Collaborate with other onsite technician on work order and maintenance allocation

The working schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 3:30p, and on Fridays from 8:00a - 12:00p Noon. Overtime is frequent now due to production demands, but is not guaranteed as this position performs maintenance and repairs outside of regularly scheduled production, including extended shifts and Saturdays.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience required in a manufacturing environment or equivalent (i.e. TPM, electrical systems and controls, CNC controls, preventative maintenance)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with OSHA regulations, contributing to a safe work environment by using proper PPEs and following procedures like LOTOS, etc.
  • Proven track record of independent maintenance achievements
  • Associates Degree or equivalent trade knowledge and experience in a related technical discipline

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the following:
  • Electrical motor and control repair
  • Using schematics and DMM to troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Mechanical drives
  • Mechanical and electrical blueprint reading
  • Pneumatic controls and systems
  • Hydraulic pumps
  • Proficient with measuring devices (calipers, dial gauges, micrometers, etc.)
  • MIG welding and machining skills a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to self-manage work schedule and a high level of performance with limited supervision
  • The ability and drive to follow through on commitments and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based applications including proficiency in the MS Office Suite
  • Proven organization skills
  • Team-player with the ability to work positively with others
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate

Physical Demands:

  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times
  • Must have the ability to move around machines in order to safely get to access points for maintenance while still observing proper health and safety requirement

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
