The Senior Accountant for Kodiak Building Partners will be responsible for all aspects of the corporate books and records. This position will report to the Director of Accounting. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to work for a growing company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process ensuring it’s completed accurately, including the review of all Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements for all corporate entities.
- Preparation of complex journal entries including expense allocations, accruals, payroll, prepaid amortizations, intercompany entries, etc.
- Reconciliation and tracking of complex prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and allocations.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure accurate accounting for health benefits, business insurance and expense allocations.
- Analyze and communicate corporate financial results with department heads regarding performance to budgets.
- Perform the corporate A/P function ensuring all invoices are processed, approved and paid timely as well as ensuring proper coding of expenses.
- Assist in the annual financial audit process, providing necessary information and schedules to the technical accounting team.
- Develop, drive, and improve internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company’s results.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
- Ad hoc projects as required
- Regular travel required (up to 5%)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE:
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-7 years of accounting experience preferred working in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary.
- Relevant industry experience, building or distribution or real estate industry preferred
- Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
- Strong research and reconciliation skills required
- Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
- Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
COMPENSATION:
Annual salary $80,000 – 95,000
